When I think about all that has happened over the last eight months in my sister’s journey to defeat breast cancer I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
Grateful that the unknowns from the beginning of this journey appear much more known today. The fears of how it would all play out have been replaced with memories of people surrounding us with prayer and meals and childcare for the girls. The highs and lows of chemo are behind us. With gratitude and trust in God we go into today with an unwavering knowledge that God is good and God sees every need and hears every prayer.
Melissa is having a double mastectomy tomorrow (Wednesday), possibly her final surgery in this journey. With the recovery that follows we will continue to be overwhelmed with gratitude for all the support and love received. The surgery will be long, 10-12 hours.
Please pray for her. Pray for peace and strength. Pray for the weeks of recovery that will follow.
Our God goes before us. He knows her every need. He knows the needs of the girls and Brady.
Thank you dear friends for your love and prayers.
